Stages – Website

For a website to be usable, there are several stages to development. The first is setting up the intent of the website, and laying out how the links will work, and what is important for navigation of the site. The design stage comes after this, because it is important that the look of the site fits the functionality that it was designed for. Last come the populating the site. This is very generic, and basic. Everything will change, and a site designed for one thing can turn into another, however when it first launches it is important to know where you are going and why.

Eventually we will get into actual development of websites a bit, and different way to create them, post them, and secure the content on them.

On this site we chose to use a WordPress CMS (Content Management System) to show how it works, and how simple and easy it can be to develop a site. We have developed sites using other systems over the years, but chose something that is free, and easy for people to learn as an example for this site.
